We read Tomorrow When the War Began by John Marsden for English class. In the book, the characters take trip into Hell, but it's not really Hell, it's a forest. They camp in Hell. When they come back to town, the town was overtaken by invaders. The characters had to hide and make sure to stay out of sight, but then they fought back. They set a lawnmower on fire to explode the soldiers, and took their guns. At the end of the book, they blew the bridge up so the invaders couldn't get across. Corrie got shot in the back, so Kevin took her to hospital. The other characters went back to hell and got their guns.
How did Homer change in Tomorrow When the War Began?
At the start of the movie he got a police car and took off the brake and took a ladder. He seems like a bad person and a troublemaker. In the book he was silly at the start with jokes.
After the war began, they were fighting for their country so Homer changed and became a nice person and used guns to fight the invaders. He became a brave person and I thought he was a good character.

I liked the book better.
In the movie, they left out one of the most important characters, the Hermit. They left out finding his hut, and the box in the hut. In the box there were his treasures, and we learned about how he had to kill his wife and his child.
In the movie, they also left out talking about UFOs. Why would they even leave them out? I bet they don't even want you to see it in the movie. The movie wasn't very long, quite quick.
The music in the movie was good, in the book you can't have music. The music was loud and fast at the showground.
